Australian Capital Territory · Road Rules Knowledge Test · ACT licence rules

What does the ACT's Competency Based Training and Assessment (CBT&A) pathway replace?

The answer

  • The Hazard Perception Test
  • The one-off government practical driving assessment Correct
  • The road rules knowledge test
  • The supervised driving hours requirement for your age group

Why that's the answer

Under CBT&A an accredited instructor assesses you against 23 driving competencies over at least 7 lessons, so you don't sit a separate government practical driving assessment. You must still complete the supervised driving hours for your age group and pass the Hazard Perception Test.
