When can a WA learner driver sit the Hazard Perception Test (HPT)?

The answer

  • From 16 years and 6 months old, after holding the learner's permit for at least 6 months Correct
  • Immediately after passing the Computerised Theory Test
  • Only after booking the Practical Driving Assessment
  • Only after completing all 50 supervised driving hours

Why that's the answer

You can sit the HPT once you are 16 years 6 months old and have held your learner's permit for at least 6 months - your 50 supervised hours can continue after you pass it. You must pass the HPT and finish the 50 hours before taking the Practical Driving Assessment.
