When must you dip your high-beam headlights?

The answer

  • Within 500 m of any vehicle
  • Within 200 m of an oncoming vehicle or a vehicle you are following Correct
  • Only in built-up areas
  • Only when another driver flashes you

Why that's the answer

You must switch from high beam to low beam when a vehicle is within 200 metres — whether it's oncoming or you're driving behind it.
