You are overtaking a slow vehicle in a 90 km/h zone. How fast may you travel while completing the overtake?

The answer

  • Up to 100 km/h, to spend less time on the wrong side
  • Up to 110 km/h if the road is clear
  • No faster than 90 km/h - the speed limit still applies while overtaking Correct
  • Any speed, as long as you return to the left immediately

Why that's the answer

Drive Safe is explicit: you must not exceed the speed limit when overtaking another vehicle. If you cannot complete the overtake within the limit, there is not enough room to do it.
