Queensland · PrepL Road Rules Test · Road rules

You have entered an intersection on a green light to turn right, but oncoming traffic keeps coming and the light turns yellow. What should you do?

The answer

  • Complete the turn on the yellow or red light once it is safe Correct
  • Wait in the intersection until the next green
  • Abandon the turn and go straight ahead
  • Reverse back behind the stop line

Why that's the answer

If oncoming traffic continues until the lights turn yellow or red, you must complete the turn on the yellow or red light. You are already lawfully in the intersection — clearing it is the safe and correct action.
