May you exceed the signposted speed limit while overtaking in Queensland?

The answer

  • Yes, briefly, to complete the manoeuvre safely
  • Yes, by up to 10 km/h
  • No — you must not exceed the signposted limit even when overtaking Correct
  • Only on a road of 100 km/h or more

Why that's the answer

The handbook states it directly: you must not exceed the signposted speed limit even when overtaking. If you cannot complete the pass within the limit, you should not be starting it.
