Queensland · PrepL Road Rules Test · Give way

You are at a STOP sign but there is no STOP line painted on the road. Where should you stop?

The answer

  • Where you have a clear view of the intersection before entering it Correct
  • At least 10 metres back from the intersection
  • Anywhere, as long as you pause
  • At the edge of the intersecting road, whatever the visibility

Why that's the answer

Normally you stop just behind the STOP line. If there is no STOP line you should stop where you have a clear view of the intersection before entering it — the point of the rule is seeing, not the paint.
