Queensland · PrepL Road Rules Test · Give way

You are turning left from a slip lane with a TURN LEFT AT ANY TIME WITH CARE sign. Who must you give way to?

The answer

  • Only pedestrians already on the road
  • Nobody — the sign means you have priority
  • All pedestrians and riders on or entering the slip lane, and all vehicles on the road you are entering Correct
  • Only vehicles already in the left lane

Why that's the answer

Driving onto a road from a slip lane, with or without that sign, you must give way to all pedestrians, bicycle and personal mobility device riders on or entering the slip lane, and to all vehicles on the road you are entering — the one exception being vehicles making a U-turn.
