Queensland · PrepL Road Rules Test · Give way

At an unmarked crossroads you are going straight ahead. An oncoming vehicle on your right is turning right. Must you give way to it?

The answer

  • Only if it is a heavy vehicle
  • Yes — it is on your right
  • No — the give way to the right rule does not apply to oncoming vehicles turning right Correct
  • Yes, but only if it is already in the intersection

Why that's the answer

At an unmarked crossroads you give way to vehicles on your right, but there are two exceptions: vehicles coming from the opposite direction and turning right, and vehicles making a U-turn. Those do not get priority over you.
