An electronic variable speed limit sign is blank. What speed applies?

The answer

  • The speed limit shown on the static signs Correct
  • Whatever speed traffic is travelling at
  • You must stop until it displays a limit
  • The default 100 km/h

Why that's the answer

If an electronic variable speed limit sign is blank you must follow the speed limit on the static signs. When the electronic limit does change, the lights surrounding the displayed speed flash to alert you.
