What speed limit applies in a Tasmanian school zone during the signposted times?

The answer

  • 25 km/h whenever children are visible
  • 50 km/h unless children are crossing
  • 40 km/h on official school days Correct
  • 40 km/h every day of the year, including holidays

Why that's the answer

School zone limits of 40 km/h apply during the times shown on the sign on official school days. Children can be unpredictable near roads, so the lower limit gives you more time to react.
