Northern Territory · Driver Knowledge Test · NT licence rules

You hold an NT learner licence and are driving with your supervising parent on a highway signposted at 110 km/h. What is the fastest you may legally drive?

The answer

  • 110 km/h
  • 130 km/h
  • 80 km/h Correct
  • 100 km/h

Why that's the answer

NT learner drivers must not exceed 80 km/h, whatever the posted limit — and must of course observe any limit lower than 80. The one exception is when you are accompanied by a licensed driving instructor, such as during a professional lesson. The cap rises to 100 km/h once you are on a provisional licence. Keep left and let faster traffic pass.
